Medication Guidelines
ㆍFor blood pressure medications and heart disease medications (arrhythmia treatment): Please take them with a small amount of water on the day of the examination.
ㆍIf you are taking other medications, please check with the medical staff and take only the necessary ones.
ㆍFor diabetes medications (insulin injections or oral medications): Discontinue during fasting to avoid hypoglycemia.
ㆍFor medications that increase bleeding risk (e.g., warfarin, aspirin): Consult with your doctor before stopping these medications and inform them during your visit.
Other Precautions
ㆍIf you wish to undergo conscious sedation endoscopy, avoid driving, operating machinery, or making important decisions on the day of the examination.
Consent forms for conscious sedation must be completed for the procedure to proceed.
ㆍAfter the examination, you may feel slight discomfort or pain in the lower abdomen due to air being injected during the examination.
This will subside as gas is released.
ㆍA biopsy may be performed during the examination for an accurate diagnosis, and in such cases, there may be slight bleeding temporarily.
If you experience heavy bleeding or persistent abdominal pain, please contact the endoscopy department.
ㆍThe bowel preparation solution may cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, pain, or cognitive impairment, leading to falls, so be cautious.
If nausea or vomiting is severe, stop the medication and visit a nearby hospital.
ㆍIf you have loose teeth, dentures, dental implants (cosmetic or insured), or bridges, inform the medical staff in advance to prevent any damage or breakage to the teeth during the procedure.
